I Need Help-- Not Feeling Acheived

I really need help, guys. For some reason, whenever I do something big, or great, I never feel achieved.

Some issues include:

  • Finish typing up rough draft of book
  • Finish writing book
  • Winning small writing contest on Wattpad
  • Reaching X amount of reads/views/watches
  • Finishing pictures for a school project I've worked on for a total of 21+ hours in a week

So, I never end up feeling achieved and I just-- Ugh.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Light in the Dark, Story Teaser

Here is chapter 1 of Light in the Dark, a fluffy, deep romance story I've been working on. Please favorite, share, and comment if you enjoyed it!

I gingerly touched the deep bruise on my cheek. I winced and sharply breathed in. It hurt. I splashed my face in cold water and then rubbed a cream onto the spot.
I glanced at my watch. 6:13. I've got twenty minutes before the bus gets here. I slipped into a pair of torn jeans, black boots, and a scruffy, grey shirt with Dove and Spring Ministries printed on the front in bold, black letters.
I had no makeup and no jewelry and I merely braided my long, glossy brown hair down my back.
I glanced out my window at the falling snow. The bus pulled up slowly to the end of my driveway. I threw my backpack on and ran outside, barely making it on the bus before it left.

School went by uneventful. I was SO glad it was Monday. Another week ninety percent away from home. My breath billowed in a white fog as I walked down the icey sidewalk to my favorite place to hang out. The little Coffee shop was a homey place and warm.
I couldn't wait to get there! I danced around the small chunks of ice on the cobblestone. I hate snow. I thought bitterly. I looked up and misstepped.
"Ah!" I yelped, starting to fall toward the road. The frozen, black stone started to fly at me. Suddenly warm hands grabbed my arms before I hit the ground and helped me up.
“Woah," A young, warm, British accent exclaimed. "A'e you alright miss?"
I shook my head to clear it and blinked. "I-I think so. ." I looked up at my hero. He had fluffy, brown hair and brilliant blue eyes.
"You sure?" He asked again. "It was my fault I-"
"I slipped on the ice." I muttered.
"O-oh. Well, good thing you didn' fall. The road is a nasty place to be."
I found it funny how he didn't credit himself. "Well," I started to brush my pants off, "I'm all good now. Thank you."
He pushed his tan glasses, which had tilted, back up the bridge of his nose. He shifted from one foot to the other.
I brushed some hair behind my ear. "Do you need something?"
He nodded. "I left me watch at home.Could you tell me the time miss?"
I glanced at my own watch. "It's three till four."
"Ah! I'm late!" The boy took off toward my own destination.
I shook my head, chuckling softly. "People."

As I entered the Coffee shop a soft bell twinkled. I walked over to an empty counter with booths and sat in one in the corner. I was freezing and hot coco sounded wonderful.
A tall woman nodded to me. "Brooks will help Ya."
I nodded and twiddled my thumbs, glancing up at the TV broadcasting a ball game and then back at my menu.
"Hello." A heavily accented voice greeted. "What would you like?"
I looked up and gasped. "You!"
He had the same reaction. "Miss!" He composed himself. "What would you like Miss?"
"My name is Maria. And may I have hot coco?"
He nodded and walked off whispering, "what a pretty name," under his breath.

He returned a bit later with a bottle of whipped cream and a cup of hot coco. He set them both down a bit sheepishly. "Not on the coco?" I teased.
"I-I didn't know how much you liked!" He turned red with embarrassment.
I frowned a little. "I was kidding. Thank you." I put a little on my finger and licked it off. We sat there in an awkward silence before I spoke up. "What's your name?"
"I'm Brooks..." He shuffled his feet.
"What a cute name!"
He blushed a little and shrugged. "Is okay. Not the best."
I smiled anyways a put a lot of whipped cream on my coco. I glanced around. "Don't tell anybody," I whispered as I opened my mouth and sprayed it full of the yummy topping.
He stared at me with wide eyes and put a hand up to his mouth to muffle his giggling.
I swallowed it and took a drink of coco. He started laughing more. "What?" I crossed my arms.
He took a napkin and wiped off my top lip, which I knew had coco on it. "No," I squealed. "My beautiful mustache!"
He had dropped the napkin, startled. Then he started to laugh hysterically. I smiled and laughed along. When he finally caught his breath he gasped, "Are all Americans this funny?"
I shrugged. "I mean, I didn't even know I was that funny."
He smiled a smile of beautiful, white teeth. "You are!"
I smiled back.A bit sadly. If only everyone thought that.... I blinked back a few tears and took another drink of coco in silence.
"Miss Maria? Are you okay?" He asked softly.
I looked up, my vision fuzzy with tears. "Y-yeah." I wiped my eyes and forced a smile. "I'm just fine."
He still looked concerned. "Okay."
I glanced at my watch. Nearly five. I stood up. "Look, I've gotta go. Maybe I'll see you again. Bye Brooks." I waved as I passed through the door to the cold, bitter outside.

My tears began to freeze to my flushed cheeks as I ran to my not-home.

The Persuasion of Favorite Characters

Alright, so, if I told you "I'm going to have your favorite character stand up for something (ie. Anti-Abortion) and you, as the reader, are going to be persuaded to agree with them, no matter how against or for you are for it." would you believe me?

Probably not.

Well, it's true!!

Here's an example.

Today in reading class I was reading Maximum Ride, the Final Warning. And in the book, it talks about Global Warming (which totally isn't even real) and pollution. Now, I am against Global Warming but have kinda been in the neutral when it came to pollution.

But, she had a speech in front of Congress and what-not and I totally agreed with her! Pollution was bad and we need to stop it and etc, etc. By Maximum Ride, one of my favorite characters ever, saying that pollution was bad and standing up against it, I agreed!!

I swear, if Percy Jackson was pro-heterosexual, if Daryl Dixon was anti-anything, anyone I liked for or against anything, I would probably side with them!

And I'll bet you'd do the same thing, wouldn't you? Comment below and just beware, because, those you love have incredible influence!

Love ya guys! Dawn out!

**Was this a rant? XD I don't even know :P **

A Lemon A Day Keeps Pretty Much Everything at Bay

Lemons

These are some crazy little things! (I don't know how this blog turned into a health blog for two posts but darling, it did. Deal with it. XD)
So, my mom bought some lemons cause we were all sick and down with colds, so she decided to make some ginger, honey, lemon tea (or honen ginger lonhey as we called it).
It made us feel better in less than an hour and gave us sooo much energy!

So, I ended up being girly and looking up the benefits and uses of lemons and it's crazy what these little sour patch candies can do!

A couple examples:
1. Drinking lemon water can help clean you out, give you energy, and even keep hunger at bay well.
2. Soaking your hair in lemon and lying in the sun can give you highlights. Doing the same and adding brown sugar can give you low lights (There's something to try this summer!).
3. They can help with fading scars, dark spots, freckles on your face, and help your face glow!
4. Helps you stay calm and cool.
5. Helps with kidney stones, strokes, and a number of other things!
6. Leaving your hands in warm lemon water for 10 minutes helps strengthen them.

Seriously, these guys are amazing! Go find some stuff on your own and comment below! There's a challenge!
Lemons are so cheap and so useful, I don't see why we wouldn't all use them!

**This has been a message from the community of lemon lovers. Please drink responsibly.**

I don't even know what that was so... Yeah.

Love ya! BYE!

Story Start Maybe?

So... Uh... Washin' dishes and this happened.

Walking.
Walking on and on. Walking upon the ashes that remain. Walking until scarlet stains the sky.
I probably would have forgotten by now, if I didn’t make myself repeat it before bed. No matter where I slept, how I slept, or anything else, I said before I fell into sleep so I’d never forget.
“My name is Riley Emilia Morrison. I am 14. I was born on August 16, three years before the war. My mother was Tina Morrison, my father was Tobias Morrison.”
I would’ve forgotten my age, but I don’t. I repeat the days in my head, and add one more year onto my age when the day comes.
If I forgot my name I would probably have called myself ‘Wanderer’. But I don’t. I repeat it before bed.
And then, after I wake up, I repeat. And continue my walk.
Walking on and on.  Walking upon the ashes that remain. Walking until scarlet stains the sky.

Walking.

Story start maybe?

5 Tips On How To Exercise When You're Lazy

5 Tips On How To Exercise When You're Lazy

Chances are, if you're anything like me, you're rather lazy (or so you claim) and you don't really exercise. Maybe you're also like me and in a way want to be healthy but are so inactive you just can't.

Wanna know what I mean?
Ex. 1
You're brother challenges to an uphill race. You are all for it and go to race him, only to get halfway up the hill and think you had a mini heart attack.

Ex.2
You're in gym and you suck. 'Nough said.

Ex. 3
I think you get the point.

So, you look up on the internet and get a whole bunch of crap you'd never end up doing and you give up. Well, never fear! I have some great tips to help you get a little healthier and feel better about yourself!

1. Dance

Okay, this one sounds weird, but seriously, everyone says that cardio is the best thing for you, so DANCE. It's easier than running, takes less room than biking, and you can do it anywhere.
Step 1: Lock yourself in your bedroom or when no one's around do this.
Step 2: Turn on a folk/ Celtic song, something by 21 Pilots, What Makes You Beautiful,  or whatever you want to jazz to.
Step 3: Start dancing. Don't care what the flarp you're doing, just get up and move! Fall on the floor, twirl around, pretend your a band member and pretend scream the lyrics. I don't care! Just get up and moving!
I find this helps me ALL the time when I want to wake up, feel bored, want to feel better, or anything! So jam out!

2. Reenact Scenes From Books or Movies

Not kidding, there is so many exercises you're doing as you pretend you're some amazing Percy Jackson, or Katniss Everdeen, or jumping off a train like Tris.
You get cardio, stretching, whatever else there is, and also, you use your imagination!

How To: Choose something to reenact or just start. Maybe, if you're reading a really good part from Narnia and Edmund and Peter are practice sword fighting you could hop out of bed, cry whatever they did, and start walking at the air with your imaginary sword.
If you're reading about Brianna from Gone or Wally West from Young Justice speeding around like speedy gonzola, GO FOR IT! Just started running around! Pretend you're Rick Grimes, pretend you're Eragon, run around and love doing it!
GO HAVE FUN!
Get some friends into it! Go have adventures in your backyard! Get creative!

3. Pace While on the Phone

One thing I do whether I honestly want to or not is pace. When I'm thinking, I pace. On the phone, I pace. Watching a movie? I pace.
Just walk around whenever you're doing anything that does not take physical contact at that moment. Simple!

4. Exercise While Watching Movies

I have (self-prescribed) ADHD, and cannot simply sit and watch a movie. Often when I'm watching BBC's Robin Hood I get up and start doing exercises from WikiHow. I just exercise and watch, not straining myself in any ways. I also stretch and whatever else. Just get active while watching. It might even be more productive than your parents thought in the first place! ;)

5. Get Creative

I could go on for hours. Exercise with water bottles, take the long way around, get active and reenact games or just play Wii and Xbox Connect games, any matter of things.  Play a sport, jump rope, go play tag! Look it up! Go on WikiHow and other websites and get ideas!

I hope this helps! Please comment any more ideas or suggestions! Love you guys! See you later!
